Sex and exercise

If you think you don’t have enough stamina or flexibility to enjoy sex comfortably, then you may want to opt for sexercise. Sexercise is exercise to improve your sexual performance and function. It can help make sex more satisfying for you and your partner. The term “sexercise” was coined by celebrity trainer Jason Rosell. It is interesting to note that physical fitness can improve your sex life, and a happy and healthy sex life can also improve your overall health.

Benefits of exercise before sex

Physical fitness can help improve your sex life by making sex more comfortable and reducing the risk of erectile dysfunction (ED) and arousal problems. This also helps people feel more comfortable and confident during sex.

Exercise can also reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, which can lead to sexual problems. Here are three types of exercises you can do to improve your sexual performance.

Aerobic exercise

Aerobic exercise like walking is a great way to start exercising in case you run out of exercise. Aerobic exercise raises your heart rate and helps maintain a healthy weight, improve blood pressure and improve your physical fitness. It can also help with erectile dysfunction. Swimming is also great exercise and you can also run, jog and jump rope.

Pelvic floor exercises

Pelvic floor exercises strengthen your pelvic floor — which involves a group of muscles that support the bladder. Kegels are a great form of pelvic floor exercise. It involves contracting your muscles, as if you were holding your pee. Try to tighten and release the same muscles you use to stop urinating several times a day. Gradually increase the duration of muscle tension – start with 5 seconds and go up to 30 seconds. You can also practice squats that strengthen your abs and pelvic floor.

Strength and flexibility training

Increasing your strength and flexibility can make sex easier and more comfortable. Try doing yoga and pilates for more flexibility. Some yoga positions can also be adopted into sex positions. Opt for weightlifting and bodyweight exercises to increase your strength. These include leg raises, knee tucks, squats, pushups, pullups, and dips.
